Cathedral Retreat For all Adults
LET’S ALL COME TOGETHER FOR A MORNING OF PRAYER AND REFLECTION
Why go on a retreat? Come together to become closer to God and each other….What could be more important than our relationship with God? Take time away from your normal activities for a few hours. Examine the priorities of life. During Jesus’ three years of public ministry, Jesus would sometimes say
“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest for a while” Matthew 6:31
The Catholic Church encourages us to make periodic retreats for the good of our souls and each other. Rekindle your relationship with Christ.
SEPTEMBER 30, 2017 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | Richmond Hill
Retreat Facilitator: Rev. Joel Blunk, Co-Pastoral Director

ALL PARISH READ: JUST MERCY
Join the Parish for Cathedral’s All Parish Read – Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson. This book tells the true account of an idealistic young lawyer. The book is a window into the lives of those he has defended, and makes the argument for compassion in the pursuit of true justice. We invite all adult parishioners to read this book and participate in several sessions to discuss the complexities of Bryan Stevenson’s true story. To learn more about Bryan Stevenson and his book, Just Mercy listen to this 25 minute podcast. Just Mercy podcast from This is Criminal
Please mark your calendar for the following discussion sessions:

September 18, 2017 – 7:00 pm – Parish Hall
October 23, 2017 – 7:00 pm – Parish Hall
Books are available in the Parish Office for $8. For more information or to order the book, please email: Maria Thorsen
The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation
Please mark your calendar to participate in this study of Scripture. The Bible is the story of God’s plan as it has unfolded in history and continues today. You are invited into a transformative encounter with Jesus Christ. This study will introduce you to God’s “plan of sheer goodness.” The Bible Timeline presents a plan from within the living tradition of the Catholic Church and will foster a greater love for scripture and meditating on God’s word.
Dates are: October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 8 and 15 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
All are invited and please bring a friend!
If you want more information, please contact: Maria Thorsen
THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
This process is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. R.C.I.A. is a process for those who have never been baptized, those who have been baptized in another faith tradition, and those who were baptized Catholic and wish full initiation with the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation.

Morning Prayer Service
The Catholic Church has the custom of celebrating the Liturgy of the Hours each day. In this way the Church fulfills the Lord’s precept to pray without ceasing. The Liturgy of the Hours is a prayer of the whole people of God. When the faithful gather together in prayer “we are the temple of the living God.”
Please join us in prayer at 7:30 am with Deacon Charles Williams and Deacon Chris Malone
A small group meets once a month for Lectio Divina at the home of Cathedral parishioner, John Votta on Monday night from 7:00-8:30 pm. If you would like more information or would like to join this group, please contact: John Votta
Topic: The Mystics of the Catholic Church
Every other Sunday from 10:00am-11:00am in the Parish Office (check calendar)
A Mystic is essentially anyone who actively and willfully seek a direct relationship and union with God. Mystics are the great lovers of God who offer and give themselves completely.
Please come to learn about who these Mystics are and how they have contributed to building of God’s Kingdom.
For more information please contact: Mike Jackman
